• Parent who wants to care for child in unorthodox way, played by recognizable, yet not particularly famous/costly, actor.
  
• Other parent, who at first disagrees with first patent's unorthodox plans, also played by recognizable, yet not particularly famous/costly, actor.
• (Optional) Add additional adorable/precocious children to taste.
  
• Framing device to reassure viewers all works out on the end.
• Self-evident Canadian filming locations.
  
• Cloying commercials about greeting cards.

WHY, I'D CUT OFF MY RIGHT ARM TO GET THAT GIG!  Next year's Academy Awards will be hosted by Anne Hathaway and James Franco.  If it's like recent years, you'll see a lot of them in the first half-hour and then they'll disappear because the show has fallen hopelessly behind schedule.   I'm sure they'll both be charming, but this doesn't much matter.

HEY, YOU! I KNOW YOU! I KNOW YOU!   The NYT reports on how Cirque du Soleil is putting a lot of former synchronized swimmers to work in Las Vegas.

COLLECTIVELY, "AWWWWWWW":  Via today's WaPo comes word of a new site, ZooBorns.com, which is devoted to pictures of newborn animals at zoos around the world.  They're all tagged by category, so children's music fans can indeed isolate the baby belugas and other adorables by species.

I'm a little perplexed by the idea of Santa. I'm not sure if I'm going to tell Lady A about Santa Clause or not. At one end of the spectrum, I ask myself, "Why not? Isn't that part of the joys of childhood: wonder, amazement, and imagination? Plus, if I don't tell her about Santa Clause, does that mean I have to leave out the tooth fairy and other childhood characters that leaves us around preteen years?"

On the other end of the spectrum, I ask myself, "Why should I lie to her? Shouldn't I teach her about the beauty of working hard so that you can enjoy the fruits of your labor?" Perhaps I'm overanalyzing this question. In my parents day they just told us there was a Santa Clause and enjoyed eating the cookies and milk their children left for them, while they wrapped their gifts. My dad even dressed up like Santa Clause!

I guess part of the reason we tell our kids about Santa Clause is because we want to enjoy childhood all over again, because as we age and see our children grow up, we realize just how fleeting those moments are.

For Thanksgiving I wanted to get dressed up without wearing my go-to leggings and sweater dress, which I admit is amazingly comfortable. I also wanted a color that felt like fall to me. I had been eyeing this skirt from Forever 21 for some time now, but could never really justify the purchase until I felt the need to get something new for this holiday. Now that I have it I imagine wearing it many more times for work with a blazer and in the summer with a tank top or t-shirt tucked in. It will definitely be used a lot.

Noticing the similar color pattern in our outfits, I couldn't help but force my older sister, Maria, into taking a picture with me. You can see we had the same colors in mind, but very different styles.
